After being canceled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the balloon festival came back this year bigger than ever. The location changed from the golf course to a wide open field near town, and it was the largest number of balloons we’ve seen take off!
Dave and I parked on an old dirt road not far from the launch site, and had a perfect unobstructed view. We were also serenaded the entire time by a western meadowlark.
After about an hour thick clouds and fog rolled in, forcing the hot air balloons to make their way back down. We watched a couple balloons completely disappear into the clouds – only to reappear moments later, making a mad dash to the ground. We were happy that it was safe enough to host the event this year, and was a fun way to kick off summer.
So pretty!!!
Thanks! 🙂
