Spring Balloon Festival

Colorado’s 20th annual balloon festival was held last weekend, where dozens of hot air balloons fill the sky each morning. Last year we had Biscuits in tow due to an injury, and had to view it from a hill over the golf course. This year we were able to leave him safely at home, and stand just feet away from the launch. We watched the balloons inflate and lift off – the wind carrying them in different directions as they climbed higher in altitude. After about an hour the festival ended abruptly when an unexpected wall of fog and wind swept through in a matter of minutes.

David and I are pretty lucky – this isn’t the only day we get to see hot air balloons. Throughout the summer they float around our town, at times drifting right over our house! It’s something we look forward to every year.
