New Year, New Look

Happy 2020! It’s a new year, a fresh start, and a new website design! It’s been in the works for a few weeks now, so check out our new look on www.thewaywedidit.com and let us know what you think in the comments below!

Every January we like to look back at the previous year to reflect and set new goals. Here are our highlights of 2019.

Balloon Festival

This year we got to experience Colorado’s annual balloon festival with Dave’s parents! The first day didn’t quite go as planned, but the second day definitely made up for it!

Baking

Dave and I started watching the Great British Baking Show on Netflix, and it inspired me to get back into the kitchen and bake more. I just loved all the unique flavor combinations, and copied a lot of the recipes on the show.

Scenic Drives

Since Biscuits can’t be left alone anymore, we embraced it by going on mini road trips to new places and trails close to home.

Storm Chasing

Colorado had the craziest summer storms last year! Many of them hit just north of us, so we used a weather radar app and drove around to watch them safely from afar.

Bathroom Renovation

Our master bathroom was extremely outdated (hello peach tile with matching linoleum flooring). After living with it for nearly five years, it was time to renovate.

Sunflower Fields

Eastern Colorado has vast fields of sunflowers that all bloom at the end of summer, and last year we finally made our way out to see them! Blog post about this coming soon!

Staycation

In October, we took a family vacation to Vail and Aspen to see the fall foliage. The aspens were at their peak, the weather was perfect – it was such a fun trip!

Sisters Weekend in San Francisco

My sister had a conference in San Francisco, so we decided to make a fun weekend out of it.
