I have never made brownies from scratch before, it seemed like such a daunting recipe to tackle.
But I decided it was time to try, and this recipe was great for a first timer like me.
INGREDIENTS
nonstick vegetable oil spray
1 stick of unsalted butter
4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 large eggs
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
RECIPE
1 Heat over to 350 degrees. Spray 8 inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
2 In a small saucepan, melt the butter & chopped chocolate, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
3 With an electric mixer, beat the eggs & sugar on medium-high until light & fluffy.
4 Reduce speed to low & mix in the melted chocolate mixture, then the flour & salt just until incorporated. Fold in the walnuts & chocolate chips.
5 Spread the batter in the prepared pan & bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 30 minutes. Cool completely in the pan.
